Description

Sari Salltëk is a legendary Bektashi holy man whose Albanian cult is especially tied to Krujë and to pilgrimage graves on Mount Pashtrik. Muslims attribute dragon-slaying deeds also told of Saint George to him — a legend face, not a separate monster biography. Ali Day (Aligjyni), formerly marked around early August in Kosova, draws Muslims and Christians to a Sari Salltëk grave on Pashtrik with hopes for rain; at noon the feast was said to turn from Ali to Elias. The wider Balkan tradition keeps several alleged resting places — a multi-tomb syncretism map, not a reconstructed pre-Islamic mountain-god biography or a separate Ali-Day deity page.

Lead story

Above Krujë the limestone keeps a dervish name. They say Sari Salltëk walked the same mountain paths where others still point to a dragon killed and a princess spared — a deed Christians hang on George and Bektashi speech hangs on the blonde saint. Further east, Pashtrik holds one of his graves; midsummer once pulled Muslims at morning and Orthodox after noon, when Ali’s day was said to turn into Elias and the sky was watched for rain. The tombs are many in the wider Balkan telling.
