Huge wild cannibal figure, often smith/forge-scaled; no knees / straight mast-legs; märchen and lexical-mythology obstacle (Fjalor mitologjie; Gjeçovi; Hahn trail; Akropoliri digests). Dense Albanian alias field: syqenhenjeri, syqen, syqorr, symadh, symoll, vigan, hajnjerri, rekës (Arvanite), gavell/garravell, lutran, dragumën, gjigant, tatëgjysh i parë. Lead story

One eye in the brow. Legs like masts — no knees to bend when he walks the Labëri stone field. They call him Katallan, or Syqenhenjeri, or Syqen, or Vigan, or Hajnjerri — a name-cloud, not a passport. He eats men. Sometimes the forge is behind him; sometimes only the highland dark. Fields and graves still carry the old plural: Katallajve. Scholars hear Polyphemus and argue contact or parallel; Mjeda said “Illyrian Polyphemus.” Put that in a footnote. Do not dress him in a tourist toga. Do not give him four eyes and an oven. That is Syqenëza, a different mouth. This one is the single brow-eye and the mast-leg giant — Albanian cyclops stock, Homeric echo admitted, not erased and not cosplayed.
