Description

Huge many-headed female serpent (digests range 7–100 heads; hydra-regrowth), who lives in a lush garden and dries the waters unless a virgin is sacrificed; craving for flesh, especially little girls (Elsie 2001:161). Functionally near-identical to kulshedra; the garden / mother-Lubia locale is the durable differentiator. Elsie keeps a dual entry; whether Tirta collapses the two remains open.

Lead story

In the south they still say mother Lubia keeps a garden that should be green and is not. Many heads rise from cracked fountain stone; cut one and buds return. The bargain is old and cruel: a virgin, or the waters stay shut. She is close enough to kuçedra that scholars argue one sheet — Elsie kept two. Until that merge is settled, keep the garden face.
