Lead story
Before the plough turns, the sky already keeps the farm’s names. Straw stolen from a godparent hangs as Kashta e Kumbares. Oxen and plough lie as Dorazi where a feast day was broken. A fold and its sheep sank for a sin and still show as Shejezet. Shepherds name Ylli i çobanit; thieves and stolen oxen walk as another knot of lights. The year reads those marks the way it reads sun and moon — work written overhead.
