Tall demon who appears in a shroud. Elsie 2001 s.v. Shpirt i keq: when dogs bark at night, folk say the Evil Spirit is out; follow too close and it changes into a serpent. Survives in the saying mos bëj si shpirt i keq — don’t act like the Evil Spirit. He is not the same as the Mat white-shroud path-blocker Pëlhurë.

Lead story
Dogs start for no reason and someone mutters that the Evil Spirit is walking. Tall, wrapped in a shroud — follow too near and the shape becomes a serpent. The old warning still fits a bad temper: don’t be like shpirt i keq. He is not the same as the Mat shroud that blocks the night path.
